I love this spot! The drinks and hot pot really good! You can customize the spiciness and toppings in certain hot pots if you come for food. For drinks you can order just at the counter. They have some milk teas and really good fruit teas as well. Every time I come here the customer service has been spot on.

Parking is pretty good as well! I honestly consider this kind of a hidden gem and I'll definitely be coming here a lot more. Can't wait for the weather to get cold to come and enjoy some good hot pot here!

Note that this review is for an order to go, and for just the drinks and snacks, not the hot pot. Husband and I needed a place to pick up boba + snacks, and chose this place due to proximity.

    We ordered:
    - 8 drinks (3 earl grey milk tea, 3 oolong milk tea, 2 matcha milk tea)
    - 3 popcorn chicken
    - 2 yam fries

We placed the order around noon and sat down to wait...and wait...and wait. I asked about our order several times at the 15 and 25 minute mark, and our order was finally ready at the 30 minute mark. Pretty disheartening to have such a long wait.

    FOOD/DRINKS
    - Earl grey milk tea and oolong milk tea were both good, boba cooked perfectly. I grew up having boba nearly every day in Taiwan, so boba that isn't cooked well breaks my heart.
    - Matcha milk tea was okay...I think it could've used more sugar as the matcha flavor was pretty strong and left a strong aftertaste. We ordered 100% sweet so I wonder what anything else would taste like.
    - Popcorn chicken and yam fries were both delish! The chicken was HUGE and yummy...I would definitely go back to this place just for the chicken.

Random fun fact: we ran into my husband's college roommate while here.

Yummi Tea Cafe offers a a Taiwanese-centric, simple and authentic menu.  This isn't a classic cook-it-yourself restaurant, instead, everything comes cooked, with the exception of the meat protein, and they just place the large pot over chafing dish fuel, which quickly brings it to a full boil.

I ordered the Original Mongolian, spicy level 1, plus Lamb (+$1.99) and an Egg extra (+$1.00).  Note other proteins beef, pork or seafood do not have a surcharge.  Every hot pot includes: cabbage, corn, tomato, squash, tofu, fishball, enoki mushroom, fish ball, fish tempura, squid, and clam.   You can choose a side of either rice, glass noodles, or ramen (+$1.50) - I chose the glass noodles, which they serve on a separate plate.  The variety of ingredients really makes it a fun sample-eating experience as I believe I only saw one item each.  It was all good though - unique flavor combinations surrounded by an excellent spicy broth.

The extras can really add to the already higher-side bowl price of $16.99 ($18.00 for dinner), so for each person, you can easily climb into the $20-25 range quickly.  If you add tea drink, then you're at $30 easy.

Of course, I had to order a tea drink.  I recommend trying the specialty milk tea: Blue Butterfly Green Milk Tea.  I've never seen any boba drink like this - a blue miasma floating and flowing at the top 1/3 of the drink, otherwise known as 'Butterfly Pea Flower', jasmine green tea and non-dairy creamer.  The taste brought my mind to rose petal, but my palate was still reminded of green tea essence.  I think a 30% sugar level is just the right balance.  The tapioca itself was pretty regular.

Finally, we also ordered two appetizers: the fried mushroom (bleh), and sweet potato fries, which actually worked well with the leftover broth after all the other goodies were already in my tummy.

This is one of those places that falls between a 3 and 4 for me...

Like how I go from being 0 to 10 back to 0, I went back and forth between wondering if this place was just average or good.

I think the consensus for me was somewhere leaning more towards a 3. The reasons:
-although there was a diversity of "toppings" (fried tofu, tofu, pumpkin, fish balls, cabbage, clam, mushroom, tomato, corn, and your choice of protein), there was very little of each that you never really got to enjoy each that much (except there was a whole lot of cabbage)
-the broth (Miso) was decent but not amazing though
    -beef quality was good
-the rice was a bit overcooked

Also, although I hate comparing on Yelp...I missed the perks of getting tea as well as a complimentary lemon basil seed drink for around the same price at (an unnamed hot pot place) during lunch time...

Otherwise, the service was fine. They also offer boba drink options as well as appetizers.

I love this hot pot place so much. I'm glad that there's no wait and never crowded. Another reason to love this place is that they have BOBA!!! So you can get both of best worlds, hot pot and boba all at once!

I always get the spicy mongolian hot pot and it's super good, you can choose spicy level to it too. You can do combo with appetizer, hot pot and a drink!
